Diogo Lopes

Diogo Lopes sits inside the RDS Estadual Ponta do Tubarão, a 13,000-ha state reserve that combines mangrove channels, salt flats and dune fields. The kite lineup forms on the beach in front of the village, where the trade wind comes in clean from the east at 18–28 kt from August through March. Local schools (Brazil Kite Dream) run beginner sessions in the lagoon and freestyle/foil sessions in the estuary. The signature ride is a short downwind to Soledade through mangrove channels at high tide — a Costa Branca alternative to the better-known Galinhos estuary playground.
