São Miguel do Gostoso → Galinhos

The downwind that put Rio Grande do Norte on the international kite map. You launch on Praia de Maceió in São Miguel do Gostoso between 11 am and 1 pm, when the trade wind locks at 22–28 knots from the east. The first stretch runs past Touros and Caiçara do Norte — open ocean, tall coconut palms, often nobody else around. Around km 50 the coast bends west and the wind turns side-on for the final run into Galinhos. Plan to land before 4 pm and only on a falling tide so the channel into the village is navigable. A 4×4 or buggy drops you back at Gostoso the next day.
