Lagoa do Bonfim (Nísia Floresta)

A 7 km-long freshwater lake in Nísia Floresta, ringed by sand dunes and cashew groves. Trade wind enters clean from the east; flatwater is the entire lake at the right windward bank. Local wing and windsurf riders use it year-round but it shines from August through February when the trade wind locks in. Lakeside infrastructure is limited (a few churrasco stands, no kite shops), so most visitors come with their own gear from Natal for a day trip. Note: motor-boat traffic increases on weekends.
