Praia de Maceió — São Miguel do Gostoso

Where the entire Gostoso kite scene takes off. The bay faces east-northeast, so the trade wind comes in side-onshore from the right at a steady 22–26 kt from September to February (peak Sep–Dec). The Ponta do Santo Cristo sandbar, about 300 m offshore, is the classic flat-water classroom every school uses; inside the bay the water is hip-high; outside the reef and at Monte Alegre 2 km east you get clean chest-high waves. Six kite schools share the beach, gear rental is everywhere, and there are simple beach bars for an açaí between sets.
