Soledade

A protected bay sheltered by sandbanks, where the trade wind funnels at 15–28 kt from August through March. The water is flat enough to host the LKB foil and freestyle clinics, while preserved mangrove channels open south of the village for kite-and-mangrove tours. Two cautions for international riders: significant tidal range exposes mud and oyster beds at low water, and the bay is shared with shrimp boats and nets — keep your line off the channel markers. Soledade pairs with Diogo Lopes and Barreiras as the three reserve communities inside RDS Ponta do Tubarão.
